This course begins the process of learning the architecture, system operation, and dispatching capabilities of the Scout system through hands-on experience in system configuration and deployment, user interface design, console operation, and system database backup and restoration.

Content	There are two methods to record audio with the Scout system, analog or IP.

Content	The Scout console is a collection of programs running all the console functions.

Objectives	Describe the components that make up a Scout console position and be able to configure and use the various devices. Install and navigate the Scout console software. Describe the console's place in the Scout system diagram.

• Similar to Learning Programs, Certifications are a set of uniquely designed courses meeting specific learner goals. 
• There are two different types of certifications offered:
  • Certifications required for Avtec partner agreements are recurring and are only valid for the time period noted in the certification. Learners will receive notifications as their certifications approach expiration.
  • Other certifications offered may be completed on a one-time basis.

Our online courses are self-paced and, unless otherwise noted in the course description, generally have no time limit; however, it is necessary for you to make regular attempts to complete your program. Users who do not log into the eLearning system for 45 consecutive days without completing their learning program will have their accounts automatically disabled. (Please contact Avtec Training for reinstatement.)

Online learning is available to all eligible customers. Simply visit the  Online Registration  page and register as a new user. Your registration will be processed within 48 business hours. If your registration request is approved, you will be sent a Welcome email with detail instructions on how to access the Avtec eLearning system.

You will need an internet-ready PC with an updated browser (we recommend Google Chrome).  We would also suggest using at least a 14" monitor and a minimum screen resolution of 1200x800.

Certification	The Avtec Certified System Maintainer is Avtec's first-level certification and is a minimum requirement for contacting Customer Support should a system issue arise.  This certification is valid for two years from the time of its award and may require additional on-going training to maintain in accordance with Avtec's Certified Partner Program.
Examination	Students must successfully complete a written exam and a hands-on exercise.
