RIC-M converts ASTRO Conventional™ protocols into open standard Project 25 (P25) compliant Internet Protocol (IP). When used with an Avtec Scout™ dispatch console system, the RIC-M supports critical features including private and group calls, clear calls, radio check, call alert, emergency alert, radio monitor, and stun/revive. The RIC-M's seamless integration into an existing radio infrastructure expands interoperability beyond the otherwise proprietary Motorola radio system while bridging the gap between conventional protocols and contemporary IP technologies.

Avtec's RIC-M is designed and manufactured in the United States, using licensed technology first developed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). The device successfully meets Federal Communications Commission Part 15 testing standards for Class A (commercial) devices, and was stringently tested by Avtec's engineers to ensure its ability to withstand environmental and ESD extremes.
