Two leading Land Mobile Radio (LMR) application developers announced a partnership agreement today that expands the capabilities available to dispatchers using the MOTOTRBO™ platform.
Integrated Voice, Text, and Mapping Solution Now Available
Two leading Land Mobile Radio (LMR) application developers announced a partnership agreement today that expands the capabilities available to dispatchers using the MOTOTRBO™ platform. Through this partnership, Avtec Inc., a leading provider of voice dispatch solutions, and NeoTerra, a leading application developer for digital mobile radio systems, now provide an integrated voice, text, mapping, and fleet management solution for dispatch operations. This solution was developed to meet market demand from MOTOTRBO clients in the business and industry, utility, refinery, manufacturing, transportation, and petrochemical sectors who require the enhanced functionality of a wireline connection for business-critical radio dispatching.
The Avtec Scout™ console offers direct IP connectivity to MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect, Connect Plus, and Linked Capacity Plus radio systems, and delivers redundancy and scalability to hundreds of talk groups. NeoTerra’s neoConneX® application is a text messaging, mapping, and automatic vehicle location (AVL) solution for the MOTOTRBO radio platform. It supports the transfer of Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates from the mobile subscribers to Avtec’s Scout Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) dispatch system. With this integrated solution, Scout console users can view location information for radio subscribers. Dispatchers can also send text and voice messages to — and receive messages from — individual radios or talk groups via the Scout desktop. Testing was conducted on NeoTerra’s neoConneX version V8.10.100 and Avtec Scout software versions 3.4 and 4.0.
Michael Ridge, Director of Partnerships and Alliances for Avtec, said, “Previously, customers needed two computers to provide the functionality that the Neoterra and Avtec solution can perform simply and reliably with software. This solution represents a leap forward for our clients.”
“The neoConneX application complements Scout’s robust voice processing functionality and provides a comprehensive solution for dispatch environments,” said Ewan Crawford, NeoTerra’s President and CTO. “This technology integration completes the MOTOTRBO ecosystem by unifying data, text, AVL, and voice into one console interface.”
Demonstrations were held during the Motorola Solutions Channel Partner Exposition on March 15-17 at the Aria Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas.
